USS NORMANDY, Baltic Sea (June 4, 2012) -- Lt. j.g. Evren Hanson tracks a ship on the bridge wing of the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), June 4, as the ship disembarks from Gdynia, Poland. Normandy, a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser homeported in Norfolk, Va., is participating in Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) exercise 2012. Twelve nations are participating in the 40th iteration of BALTOPS, which is intended to improve interoperability with partner nations by conducting realistic training both on land and at sea.
