Ghana's 1st International Conference on Pandemics took place June 27-28, 2012 in Accra, Ghana and was co-hosted between the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ - German Society for International Development). Erik Threet, program manager for U.S. Africa Command's Pandemic Response Program, provided a presentation on advances in Civil - Military Cooperation in the Response to a Severe Pandemic beyond the Capabilities of the Ministry of Health. The preparedness conference focused on imminent and emerging epidemic risks with an emphasis on the impact to people in developing countries."
