The DoD Hiring Reform Initiative comprises several key focus areas, one being the active involvement of managers in the hiring process. While hiring is a shared responsibility with shared accountability among many stakeholders, hiring the best person to meet the mission needs is a management responsibility. As a Hiring Manager, recruiting top talent for your work effort is one of the most important and pressing activities you can undertake to meet your mission requirements.

The following Hiring Manager's Toolkit provides useful information specifically tailored to Hiring Managers in an easy-to-understand format. It marries "best in class" artifacts from the DoD Components, modified to apply DoD-wide, with industry best practices. Additional updates to the toolkit posted here will occur throughout the year. Coupled with targeted training and a strong strategic partnership with a Human Resources (HR) Professional throughout the process, the Hiring Reform Toolkit equips Hiring Managers with vital information that encourages their involvement in the hiring process.
