Le major Jack Johnson a pris les responsabilités de Chef des Sous Officiers du Commandement des Etats-Unis pour l’Afrique le 11 Mars, 2011.
Le Major Johnson s’est engagé dans Les Forces Aériennes des Etats-Unis le 25 Octobre, 1984. Ses spécialités principales ont été en tant que directeur du renseignement et de Chef de Sous Officiers. Il a eu un large éventail de missions au niveau d’escadron, groupe, aile, division, agence, interarmées, commandement de combat et quartier général. Avant son affectation actuelle, il était le Chef des sous officiers du Commandement d’Attaque Globale des Forces Aériennes des Etats-Unis dans la base de Barksdale, en Louisiane.
Son service militaire a compris des affectation en Italie, dans le Maryland, le Japon, la Géorgie, la Virginie, le Nebraska, l'Allemagne, la Turquie, et la Louisiane.
Ses décorations comprennent trois Médailles du Service Méritoire du Ministère de la Défense, six Médailles du Service Méritoire, la Médaille de Recommandation des Forces Aériennes et quatre Médaille de Rendement du service interarmées.
