182nd Airlift Wing

The 182nd Airlift Wing's C-130 Hercules performs a diverse number of roles, including airlift support, Antarctic ice resupply, aeromedical missions, weather reconnaissance, aerial spray missions, firefighting duties for the U.S. Forest Service and natural disaster relief missions. The aircraft is capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and is the prime transport for air dropping troops and equipment into hostile areas. The 182nd also has additional Mission Separated Units to include the 182nd Air Support Operations Group, 168th Air Support Operations Squadron, 169th Air Support Operation Squadron, 264th Combat Communications Squadron, and the 566th Air Force Band.

As a Mobility Pilot, you'll master all aspects of advanced aviation and use those skills to fly C-130 Hercules aircraft, transporting everything from cargo to passengers to destinations all over the world. In this role, you'll perform navigation, in-flight refueling, and cargo and passenger delivery. You'll plan and prepare for missions; review mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information; and brief your crew. Air Liaison Officers are the most skilled and courageous Airmen in the entire Air National Guard. They are Ranger and Airborne qualified, proficient in air assault, scuba operation, and various parachute tactics, and maintain the highest physical and mental standards. You'll find Air Liaison Officers leading a team imbedded on the front lines of war among Army and Marine Special Force units to provide U.S. and allied forces with tactical air support for ground attack fighters.
