PEACHTREE CITY, GA — June 16, 2009 — Dr. Elaine Beraza, Director, Department of Defense (DoD) Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) and Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Cuba, (DoDDSCuba)
announced today that Dr. Matthew Kralevich has been named principal of Herbert J. Dexter Elementary School, at Fort Benning, in the Georgia/Alabama District. Dr. Renee’ Mallory has overseen both Dexter
and Wilson elementary schools during the 2008-2009 school year.

Kralevich comes to the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) from Alice, Texas, where he was principal of Memorial Intermediate School. Prior to serving at Memorial, he was assistant principal at William Adams Middle School in Alice. He taught nine through 12th grade students at the Alamo Achievement Center in San Antonio, serving as master lead teacher and Social Studies Department chairman at
Alamo.

““I am delighted that Dr. Matthew Kralevich has joined the GA/AL DDESS team as principal of Dexter School,” said Dr. Dell McMullen, Georgia/Alabama District Superintendent. “Dr. Kralevich is a proven instructional leader. He ensures that high quality, research based instructional strategies are used to promote student achievement, and teaching and learning are clearly his focus. Dr. Kralevich is honored to serve the
children of our military, and we are certainly honored to have him join our team.”

Kralevich earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Secondary Education from SlipperyRock University in Slippery Rock, Pa., his Master’s degree in Educational Administration and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership, both from Texas A& M. He presented at the Southwest Education Research Association Annual Conference in 2008.
