Dear friend,

Last week, Congress approved and I voted for H.J.Res. 118 which expresses disapproval of the Obama Administration's attempt (through the Department of Health and Human Services) to waive work requirements for TANF benefits. If the Senate passes this resolution, it would effectively block the waiver from being granted. This comes on the heels of the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office (GAO) determining that it is not within HHS' authority to waive these requirements without Congressional approval. Not only do I believe the President circumvented Congress by issuing the waivers, I believe these waivers are unwise and unwarranted.

IRS Implementation and Administration of Obamacare Pt. 1 (VIDEO)
In a Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee hearing I questioned the Deputy Commissioner for Services and Enforcement for the IRS, on issues regarding how household income will be determined under the new health care law and individual privacy issues that could very well arise during implementation of the state exchanges.
