-Helen Keller, deaf/blind American author, activist and lecturer (1880-1968)

    Scream Free Parenting:
Some of us scream or threaten. Others smolder or disconnect altogether. I love this quote because it gives us another option. Instead of running away from difficult situations with our children or blowing up at them when they...
act like…children, Helen Keller challenges us to do something much more difficult and more rewarding: grow into ourselves. She inspires us to stand with our children and hold firm to the things that we know are best for them without worrying about how they will react. When our children see that we are strong enough to withstand the maelstroms they throw our way, their respect for us will grow by leaps and bounds.

Earlier, Leia King-Carr posted a question about Respite Care providers: "I was wondering if any of the families who use respite care could give me any ideas of who they prefer and possibly any good experiences? I am having a really hard time finding anyone off the very short list I was given by AlignStaffing. Thank you all in advance!! Cheers :-)" Although ACS EFMP is unable to make recommendations, we do hope our fan base can provide their own experiences or feedback.
