Apricot Glazed Ham
Ingredients
- 1 (5-pound) fully cooked whole boneless ham
- 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- 2/3 cup apricot nectar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Place ham on a rack in a shallow pan; bake uncovered for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until meat thermometer registers 140 degrees (about 15 to 18 minutes per pound). Add the glaze during final 30 minutes of baking time.
- For the glaze: combine the brown sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg and cloves in a small saucepan.
- Stir in the apricot nectar and lemon juice.
- Cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly, stirring often.
- Generously brush ham with glaze, continue baking 15 to 30 minute more, brushing again occasionally with the glaze mixture.
