Apricot Glazed HamApricot Glazed Ham

  • Ingredients

    • 1 (5-pound) fully cooked whole boneless ham
    • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
    • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
    • 2/3 cup apricot nectar
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
    2. Place ham on a rack in a shallow pan; bake uncovered for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until meat thermometer registers 140 degrees (about 15 to 18 minutes per pound). Add the glaze during final 30 minutes of baking time.
    3. For the glaze: combine the brown sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg and cloves in a small saucepan.
    4. Stir in the apricot nectar and lemon juice.
    5. Cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly, stirring often.
    6. Generously brush ham with glaze, continue baking 15 to 30 minute more, brushing again occasionally with the glaze mixture.
