Career Description

The men and women of the Air Force, along with their families, need dental care just like anyone else. As an Air Force Endodontist, you'll provide that care with the help of a highly trained staff, the latest equipment and an organization that's not buried in insurance paperwork.

Career Tasks

  • Oversee the dental health of Airmen
  • Examine, diagnose and treat diseases and destructive processes, including injuries and abnormalities of dental pulps and periapical tissues of teeth while also directing endodontic services
  • Examine patients and interpret radiographs and pulp tests, evaluate findings and prescribe methods of treatment to prevent loss of teeth and to restore teeth to functioning order
  • Provide consultation services

Becoming a Direct Commission Officer

To ease your transition into the Air Force, you'll enter a five-week training regimen designed to educate you on the ways of both the military and military healthcare. You'll participate in physical conditioning five days a week, leadership training and classroom studies.
