Schilhabel
Master Sgt. Brian Schilhabel, a member of Team Hill's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight, stands in the middle with Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Candler, Ogden Air Logistics Center and 75th Air Base Wing Command Chief; Maj. Gen Kathleen Close, OO-ALC Commander; Col. Linda Medler, 75th Air Base Wing Commander and Mr. Mark Johnson, OO-ALC Executive Director immediately following his promotion from General Close under the Stripes for Exceptional Performer program. The STEP program is designed to recognize exceptional performers for promotion to the grades of staff sergeant through master sergeant. The Ogden Air Logistics Center only received one stripe for an Airman to be STEP promoted this year. The STEP program allows the center commander to conduct on-the-spot promotions for exceptional Airmen. Under the standard Weighted Airmen Promotion System, promotees are measured against all other eligible individuals and if selected, can wait up to 12 months before they officially wear the rank. With the STEP program, the selected assume the new rank immediately.
