Resources for Service Members
Education Centers
The primary resources for information about and assistance with voluntary education programs are the Services' Education Centers. The Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) provides an on-line, searchable directory of Education Centers. The Services have their own websites related to voluntary education as well:
DoD Voluntary Education Program
The DoD Voluntary Education Program website provides an overview of the program and links to individual branches of Service education programs, policy, and other military education-related services.
DANTES
DANTES supports the off-duty voluntary education programs of DoD by helping eligible service members and their families pursue their education goals. DANTES provides programs and services in certification, counselor support, distance learning, and examinations, and manages the Tuition Assistance Reimbursement Program. For more information on DANTES programs and services, please visit the DANTES website.
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Education Benefits
The VA offers education programs for veterans of military service, as well as education benefits to surviving family members. For more information on VA education programs, please visit the VA's education benefits website.
Department of Education
The Department of Education website provides information for students, parents, teachers, and administrators, including links related to student aid, grants, and scholarships.
