Phil Strickland works on the wiring of an F-16 wing in the F16 Wing Shop, 574th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. The shop has created a culture focused on process improvement. Employees are encouraged to look for ways to eliminate waste and to submit their ideas. Many of the ideas and implementation of these ideas have come about through the hard work and dedication of the Process Improvement Team members and management, including both day shift and swing shift.

F-16 FIGHTING FALCON

The 419th Fighter Wing, Hill Air Force Base, Utah was the first Reserve unit to fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the only Air Force Reserve unit in Utah. The mission of the wing is to provide gaining commands a ready, fighting force through recruiting, equipping and training for worldwide combat. The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack. It provides a relatively low-cost, high-performance weapon system for the United States and allied nations. (Courtesy Photo)
