Military Benefits

Veteran Educational Benefits (VA)

American Sentinel University is approved to accept students funded by various GI Bill programs administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). These benefits can be used toward associate, bachelor’s, and graduate degree programs offered by American Sentinel. Because of our affordable military tuition rates, veterans may receive benefits that cover their entire tuition costs for courses. In addition, American Sentinel is a Federal Student Aid participating school.

Some general guidelines:

  • Course terms are eight weeks in length and begin each month.
  • Montgomery GI Bill tuition benefits are paid directly to the student. However, Post 9/11 GI Bill tuition benefits are paid directly to American Sentinel.
  • VA benefits may be used in conjunction with company reimbursement as long as your employer is not the federal government. In addition, VA benefits may be used in conjunction with Federal Student Aid for which the student may be eligible.

Eligibility for VA Educational Benefits

Our admissions advisors are happy to help our military students through the admissions process, however, the Department of Veterans Affairs should always be your primary source of veteran benefit information. To determine your eligibility for VA educational benefits, visit the Department of Veterans Affairs website or call 800.827.1000 (U.S. only). All admissions requirements must be completed and the veteran must be a registered student at American Sentinel University before he or she will be certified for VA benefits.

Military Tuition Assistance (TA)

American Sentinel is committed to making our programs financially possible for military students. Our affordable tuition is just one of the many reasons that military members—including active-duty and reserve members, veterans and their spouses—comprise more than one-third of our student body.

American Sentinel students are eligible for tuition assistance from all branches of the military—talk to your admissions advisor about using your tuition assistance (TA) benefits. Students also may be eligible for benefits offered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (GI Bill), and American Sentinel is approved to accept MyCAA program tuition assistance payments for military spouses. In addition, American Sentinel is a Federal Student Aid participating school. American Sentinel University also participates in the Servicemembers Opportunities Colleges program.

When combined with our comprehensive credit transfer policy that could give you credit for prior education, learning experiences, military service, and CLEP, DSST and ACE testing, attending American Sentinel makes financial sense. We can help you earn your degree faster and position you for success in your career.
