The Air Force Small Business Industry Days (SBID) provide benefit by creating partnerships and increasing small business participation. The 2016 AF SMC SBID takes place October 18-20, 2016, in Los Angeles, CA, with a combination of informational briefings and speakers, as well as one-on- ones between small businesses and government POCs. This event focuses on increasing the AF SMC's small business supply chain, as well as matching program office technology based needs to SBIR/STTR/RIF developed technologies that accelerate transition onto AF platforms.

Build ing on two previous successful events, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (A RL) will hold its third Open Campus Open House (OCOH).

Since its inception, ARL’s Open Campus business model has envisioned the creation of a dynamic s cience and technology ecosystem, a first of its kind in federal laboratorie s – a collaboration incubator, linking government assets with the global re search community. This informal two-day event features a variety of schedul ed presentations, tours, and an opportunity to meet one-on-one with some of the Army’s leading researchers.

Opening the event, the ARL Director will walk through the evolution and suc cesses of the Open Campus concept. Laboratory leaders will highlight ARL’s Science &Technology Campaign areas (Computational Sciences; Materials Rese arch; Sciences for Maneuver; Information Sciences; Human Sciences; Sciences for Lethality and Protection; and Assessment and Analysis), emphasizing op portunities for strategic research and collaboration. Additionally, the ARL OCOH will include all day tours of ARL’s laboratory spaces where ARL resea rch scientists and engineers will be available for in-depth discussions abo ut current and future research projects.

SBIR/STTR Innovation Summit & DoD Beyond Phase II ConferenceAustin

The SBIR/STTR Innovation Summit and the Beyond Phase II Conference will take place simultaneously with the Defense Innovation Summit November 29 - December 1, 2016 at the JW Marriott in the heart of downtown Austin, TX. The three events will join together their exhibits, receptions, and refreshment breaks to provide numerous networking opportunities. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with SBIR/STTR program managers, staff, and industry leaders. Event opportunities include one-on-one meetings, program sessions, and workshops, as well as opportunities for current SBIR companies to showcase technologies to enable transition of SBIR-funded products to military, government, and commercial markets.
