OLSON: MR. PRESIDENT, ARE YOU FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE, OR NOTHING BELOW?

Washington, DC- Rep. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land) today issued the following statement in response to President Obama's comments about the Senate bill to repeal oil tax incentives:

"President Obama wants to end the tax incentives that help provide 9 million American jobs and affordable American energy, and give them to a green energy market that is not ripe to meet our energy needs.  Think Solyndra. The incentives he's talking about are available to a broad range of American companies to help them produce American products and American jobs; yet he wants to target one industry – the American energy sector.  Indeed, most of these incentives don’t go to big oil companies as the President and his far left friends want you to believe.  They go to smaller independents, the “wildcatters,” who drill nearly 90% of the oil and gas wells in America.  These independents simply won’t survive without these important incentives.  No rational thinking person really believes that hiking taxes on American energy producers will lower gas prices. Please, Mr. Obama, do not tell us that you are for “all-of-the-above.”
