Message from MG Stephen R. Lanza, Chief of Public Affairs:
"I'm pleased to announce Army producers scored significant triumphs during the 2011 Thomas Jefferson Awards competition. The finest producers throughout our sister services, the U.S. Coast Guard and Defense Media Activity compete annually in this prestigious Department of Defense level competition. I'm delighted by our performance in this intensely challenging competition. Bear in mind every entry in the "TJs" captured first place in our Keith L. Ware Public Affairs Competition last month. All the print journalists, photographers, broadcasters and production teams judged during this competition are champions in their own right. I'm extremely proud of these achievements - they reflect well on our Army Public Affairs family and the training, mentorship and leadership that produced them. But I'm most proud of the energy and teamwork reflected in all these efforts. Behind each piece of work and each award lies a team of peers, editors, producers and leaders that contributed heavily to the final product. I congratulate not only the winners recognized below, but all the participants in the competition and the terrific teams behind them. Keep up the outstanding work. Hooah!"
