Exciting New MnRDC Research on Health Reform
Researchers from the
Urban Institute and SHADAC at the University of Minnesota begin MnRDC research to aid in estimation, evaluation, and implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA). Researchers will use restricted-access NHIS data from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) to create state-specific weights and multi-year averages of key health care outcomes. State-level post-stratification weights (using age, race/ethnicity, and sex information from the American Community Survey) will support one-, two-, and three-year state-specific estimates of health insurance coverage, health status, health care utilization, and usual source of care among adults aged 18 years and older in the U.S.
