Mission / Purpose

Mission: Develop the vision and strategy to accomplish the DoD Biometrics mission
Objective: Ensure a continuous strategic planning process that incorporates evolving technologies and innovatively uses capabilities across a range of mission areas

  • Identify a strategic planning process that conforms to Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE)
  • Support annual assessment of program
  • Review and update the Biometrics Enterprise Strategic Plan (BESP)
  • Incorporate strategic planning in the DoD Instruction

Plans Branch Overview

  • Develops, manages, and updates a strategic document review schedule
  • Ensures an appreciation for use of biometrics modalities is incorporates into key strategic documents
  • Updates, and refines as necessary, BIMA organizational structure to accomplish BESP goals and objectives
  • Updates the BESP periodically to ensure incorporation of key stakeholder equities
  • Serves as the BIMA initiative group to frame enterprise issues, across the BIMA Staff, for BIMA leadership review
