This 17 week course consists of 15 weeks of online instruction at your duty station and two weeks (weeks 3 and 17) in-residence at CDSE in Linthicum, Md. The dates for the in-residence portions of the class are January 21 to 25 and April 29 to May 3.

Description: This course provides a comprehensive study of risk management as used by high-level management officials to support decision making. The course addresses risk management theory and DoD risk management practice and builds comfort with risk management decision-making methodology in dealing with imminent security threats. During the semester, students complete a series of assignments involving application of risk management to a specific mission or project at their agency. At course conclusion, students return to CDSE to present their risk management project.

Length: 17 weeks

Target Audience: This program is designed for mid-level to high-level personnel who have SPēD Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and have achieved proficiency in one or more security specialty. The course is recommended for security professionals preparing for SPēD Asset Protection, Program Integration and Security Enterprise Professional Certification.

Clearance Requirements: Secret – Student clearance eligibility access information must be documented in the Joint Clearance Access Verification System (JCAVS).

Prerequisites:

Requirements: Full-time attendance and participation in all in-residence activities and completion of all assignments including but not limited to papers, examinations and presentations.
