Did you know that in addition to taking advantage of the many web-based distance learning training courses and continuous learning modules the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) offers for Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification, workforce members can also leverage these courses for Core Plus training, cross-certification, and fulfilling the DoD requirement for Defense Acquisition Workforce members to acquire 80 Continuous Learning Points (CLP) every two years from the date of entry into the acquisition workforce for as long as the member remains in an acquisition position per DoD Instruction 5000.66?
Moreover, were you aware that you can not only take these distance learning courses and continuous learning modules for credit, but can browse them for information? This is a particularly powerful option if you need to refer back to a course or module after graduating or on the job.
Browsing courseware (viewing content, sans tests or registration) is available for both DAU Continuous Learning Modules and Distance Learning Courses, for individuals otherwise eligible to register for such courseware through the DAU system. Typically this would include government employees and contractors. Browsing is done through the ATLAS system, https://learn.dau.mil, and requires an ATLAS account. Courses can be browsed from any computer using your ATLAS User Name and Password associated with your account. A CAAC card is not required but, if you use a computer with a card reader, is the easiest way to log into ATLAS, once an ATLAS account has been established.
You already have an ATLAS account if you have ever registered for any online course offering at DAU. An ATLAS account is automatically established as you register for an initial course or Continuous Learning Module. Alternatively, to establish an ATLAS account, contact the DAU HELP DESK at dauhelp@dau.mil or at 1-866-568-6924 (Toll Free) or 703-805-3459 (Commercial) or DSN 655-3459. When calling in, select option 1 for DAU Virtual Campus Courses. The Call Center hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), Monday-Friday.
Encourage you to take advantage of this excellent capability.
