| The DoD ESI’s mission is to lead in the establishment and management of enterprise Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Information Technology (IT) agreements, assets, and policies for the purpose of lowering total cost of ownership across the DoD, Coast Guard and Intelligence communities. DoD ESI’s mission extends across the entire commercial IT life-cycle leveraging the DoD’s combined buying power with commercial software publishers, hardware vendors and service providers. |

| DoD ESI and Enterprise Software Agreements have proven that managing the acquisition of commercially available software at the enterprise level reduces costs. DoD ESI enables aggregation of software requirements and promotes the use of Enterprise Software Agreements that leverage the DoD’s buying power. DoD ESI does not dictate the products or services to be acquired.
