Technology and Innovation (TI) |
The Technology and Innovation Directorate is responsible for technology innovation, business engineering, architecture development/design and continuous performance improvement (CPI) for the Office of the Deputy Chief Management Officer and across the Department of Defense. The Directorate’s mantra is “optimizing effective and efficient business process and business systems.” This focus area supports the Department’s goal of meeting “Warfighter needs effectively and efficiently.” Improving organizational performance, developing the Business Enterprise Architecture, driving innovation through advanced technology demonstrations, and participating in standards’ bodies is the foundation to delivering this capability. TI also serves as the architect of the BEA, defining transformation priorities and the supporting business capabilities, systems and initiatives. TI incorporates the laws, regulations, data standards and business rules captured by BI into a Federated BEA, while simultaneously applying CPI/LSS methodologies to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the DoD business enterprise. TI also partners with IAM to ensure that the BEA content is consistent with the DoD Investment Review Board process. As a CPI/LSS Center of Excellence, the Directorate also provides business performance improvement experts and outreach capabilities (i.e. LSS, Business Process Engineering, and Business Process Modeling Notation) to the Department and Federal customers worldwide.
