DAU is pleased to announce the deployment of a new ACQuipedia 2.0 on the Defense Acquisition Portal (DAP). The new ACQuipedia version is hosted on a SharePoint platform. The SharePoint platform will include workflow and a user interface that will simplify the creation, editing and management of articles.
If you are not familiar with ACQuipedia it serves as an online encyclopedia of common defense acquisition topics. Each topic is identified as an article; each article contains a definition, a brief narrative, and links to pertinent policy, guidance, tools, lessons learned, communities of practice, and training, as well as related ACQuipedia articles. Articles are typically 1-2 pages in length. The condensed format allows users to easily access a quick overview of the topic or delve deeper into the topic by linking to available training, communities, and other related resources.
ACQuipedia 2.0 provides a variety of new capabilities and features designed to simplify the creation, editing, management, and upkeep of articles. Some of the new features include:
· New streamlined look and feel
· System and individual article metrics data
· Ability to suggest a new topic and content online
· Ability to populate article definitions dynamically directly from the DAU Glossary
· Built-in workflow for article development, tracking, and management
· Automatic e-mail notification of article status changes
· Ability for users to easily provide feedback, suggest content changes, as well as to rate and comment on existing articles.
Please note that redirects from the old ACQuipedia site on the DAU Acquisition Community Connection (ACC) are in place, but those redirects will only be available for a limited time. If you have bookmarked ACQuipedia or specific articles within ACQuipedia you will need to change your bookmarks.
In addition to the new functionality, look, and feel of the website, we are also pleased to announce the deployment of two new life cycle logistics articles in recent weeks entitled “Lead-Free Electronics” and “Mean Downtime (MDT).” The deployment of these two new articles brings the total number of logistics and product support-related articles to 84, and the total number of ACQuipedia articles across all functional communities to 383. If you have ideas for new topics – or are interested in submitting an ACQuipedia article of your own – we highly encourage you to support our community and start writing!
