DoD ESI has "adopted" the Air Force's Quantum Electronic Buy (QEB), and the Army's Consolidated Buy (CB) processes as initial steps in making sure all DoD buyers can gain deep discounts on laptops, desktops, printers, and monitors. All DoD customers are encouraged to use one of these two processes to benefit from price breaks for DoD's largest unified customer bases.
All DoD customers are encouraged to use one of the two processes shown below to acquire commodity IT hardware (laptops, desktops, printers and monitors). The QEB is hosted by the US Air Force, and the CB is hosted by the US Army. Both processes allow buyers to gain deep discounts enabled by price breaks obtained from the consolidated buys. There are differences in the two acquisition approaches, so buyers should compare and discuss with QEB and CB professionals at the following links:
