Rep. Pete Olson Monday lauded Heavy Construction Software & Services of Sugar Land for their recognition as one of the top 15 small workplaces in America by the Wall Street Journal.  The cornerstone of the recognition is due to their wellness programs for employees.

“In a day and age where many employees are facing uncertainty in the workplace, knowing that companies like HCSS exist is a real blessing for current and potential employees,” Olson said during a visit to the company’s new Sugar Land facility.  “Companies that focus on the wellbeing of their employees truly see the reward through better productivity and loyal staff.  I applaud Mike Rydin the founder and CEO of HCSS for his visionary approach with his employees and know that this approach serves as a model for other workplaces.  Innovation and commitment to excellence truly do seem to work both ways at HCSS.  Congratulations on this award from the Wall Street Journal.”

HCSS offers employees professional development classes, a wellness program, an exercise facility with weekly training classes, and employee ownership with profit sharing. Recently locating to a new 45,000 square foot facility, employees now have the benefit of a 200-meter running track, a jogging trail, outdoor soccer field, covered basketball court and a Wi-Fi enabled courtyard furnished with barbeque pits for lunchtime grilling.

HCSS was one of nearly 630 private, nonprofit or publicly held organizations around the country that were nominated for this award. According to the Wall Street Journal, they select employers that foster teamwork, flexibility, high productivity and innovation while also helping their employees grow personally and professionally, and providing benefits that improve their lives and communities.
