Immigration

One of America's greatest strengths is that we are a nation of immigrants. The immigrants that built this country did so by working hard to contribute to the economy and becoming productive members of American society.

As a member of the Immigration Reform Caucus, I work with other like-minded member of the House to address our country's significant immigration problems. I use this Caucus as a platform to deal with the concerns many of his constituents share about massive immigration. I work with other Members of Congress in a concerted effort to facilitate Congressional action.

The immigration debate has become highly polarized and politicized. I believe that an effective immigration plan must be straightforward, concise, thorough, and in the best interest of American citizens. I oppose blanket amnesty and believes that key provisions of immigration reform must secure the entire border, prosecute and deport criminal aliens in the US , establish a true Guest Worker Program, safeguard social programs, and strengthen interior enforcement.

We must work secure the border and end illegal immigration while understanding the benefits of controlled and reasonable legal immigration.
