Charlie Chaplin

Charles Spencer “Charlie” Chaplin (1889-1971) was a comic actor, movie director, and one of the founders of United Artists Pictures, a major Hollywood film studio. This release consists of two types of files, one involving a White Slave Traffic Act (or interstate prostitution) investigation and a domestic security file concerning Chaplin’s ties to communist organizations in the U.S. The dates range from 1922 to 1978.
