What is the UBU?

The Unified Biostatistical Utility (UBU) group is responsible for the detailed work of the analysis required to standardize biostatistical data elements, definitions, data collection processes, procedure codes, diagnoses and algorithms across the Military Health System.

The UBU consists of multi-disciplinary functional experts from the Army, Navy and Air Force covering a broad range of business functions with an emphasis in biostatistical, clinical, financial or managed care areas.
