Health Care Costs Under the Demonstration

Your out-of-pocket costs are based on your sponsor's military status. You will be responsible for your annual deductible and applicable cost shares, but you will not be required to make up-front payments.  Approved Demonstration Providers have agreed to collect only the deductible and cost shares from you after receiving the explanation of benefits.

If you get care from a non-approved demonstration provider without a waiver from International SOS, you are responsible for the full cost of the care.

Note: If using TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve or TRICARE Young Adult-Standard Option, you must also pay monthly premiums.

Annual Outpatient Deductible
You must meet the annual outpatient deducible each fiscal year (October 1 - September 30) before cost sharing begins:

  • Active duty sponsor Rank E4 and below: $50 per individual/$100 per family
  • Active duty sponsor Rank E5 and above: $150 per individual/$300 per family
  • All others: $150 per individual/$300 per family

The annual outpatient deductible is waived for family members of National Guard/Reserve members who are called to active duty for more than 30 days in support of a contingency operation.
