How do I enroll in the TRICARE Dental Program? |
First, make sure the entire family’s information in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) is up-to-date before you enroll. Your enrollment/change request may be rejected if the information doesn’t match what is in DEERS. You can update your personnel and family information by visiting a personnel center or the nearest ID card-issuing facility. (Check to make sure all family members show as eligible, make sure the sponsor’s status is active duty).
To make sure you receive TDP information, you can update your personal contact information in DEERS one of the following ways:
- Online at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/appj/address/index.jsp
- In person by visiting a local personnel office that has a uniformed services identification (ID) card-issuing facility
- Call the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) Support Office at 1.800.538.9552
There are three ways to enroll in the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP).
- Online: Complete your enrollment by logging onto the Beneficiary Web Enrollment (BWE) tool at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/appj/bwe/indexAction.do
- Please note: A CAC or DS Logon is required to access the BWE site; have a credit card ready to pay the initial premium payment.
- By Mail: The TDP Enrollment Authorization document may be found at: http://tricare.mil/mybenefit/Download/Forms/TDP_Enroll_AuthChange_unlinked.pdf .
Mail the completed TDP Enrollment Authorization document along with the initial premium payment (check, money order, or credit card) to:

- By Phone, have a credit card ready for the initial payment:
- CONUS (the 50 United States, DC, Puerto, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands): 1-855-MET-TDP1 (1-855-638-8371)
- OCONUS (all other overseas locations and if on a ship/vessel outside territorial waters): 1-855-MET-TDP2 (1-855-638-8372)
- TDD/TTY Service for the Hearing Impaired 1-855-MET-TDP3 (1-855-638-8373)
Once the TDP contractor processes your Enrollment/Change Authorization and verifies payment and eligibility, each enrollee will receive a TDP ID card confirming enrollment.
- If the TDP contractor receives your enrollment form and payment by the 20th of the month, coverage begins the 1st day of the following month.
- If received after the 20th day of the month, coverage begins the 1st day of the second month.
Your TDP coverage start date is on your enrollment card. (Do not seek dental services until the start date!) |
