Tightening your belts - with Obama's 2012 budget? Where in this great budget is the plan to pay down the deficit? Or where is the plan to try and balance the debt?

All I hear is the same ole thing "Spend baby Spend" who cares how we are supposed to pay it back...blah, blah, blah!

When will you wake up Ray, 2012?

Congratulations to Secretary LaHood and his DOT team for their excellent work as reflected in the President's FY 2012 budget proposal. This is truly a forward looking set of ideas and proposals that will lay the basis for the nation's future economic growth and success. Congratulations on a job well done!

In the first part of this century we were the innovators and creators of almost everything. It seems like our global competitors have taken it all and made it better. From ancient Egypt to the present, empires and super powers come and go. We have to be steadfast. China has put somebody in space, created a super stealth fighter and extra long range missiles to sink the best warships in less than a decade. Much of it paid for by the taxpayer. We are losing ground and have to make a come back soon.

Congratulations on the release of the transportation budget proposal! This is a visionary reform of national transportation policy, yet it's also a pragmatic approach towards helping our transportation system create more prosperous and healthier communities.

The proposal provides for transparency, consolidation of programs, performance measurement and other much-needed reforms that will bring our transportation policy and system into the 21st century.

Mr. Secretary,

We urge you to support Florida Senator Bill Nelson's plan to save high speed rail for Florida in the wake of Gov. Scott's short-sighted decision.

As a magazine publisher, I plan on editorializing my support and organizing to support our move into the 21st century with rail transportation.

Please do not take the money allocated for Florida away while we create the entity needed to make Florida high speed rail a reality.
