National Security
In the 21st Century, the scope of national security in America has significantly broadened. Now, in addition to providing for a civil defense in times of turmoil and natural disaster, and a prepared military to protect American freedoms in times of international uncertainty, national security involves various efforts to protect Americans from 21st Century threats.
Maintaining a strong national security requires us to safeguard city and town, border and seaport, and to provide new tools for first responders, law enforcement and public safety officials.
We must further strengthen our military and provide for the enhanced role of the National Guard and Reserve forces, and honor the veterans who return home from defending America’s freedoms abroad.
