The Nation’s international trade balance in goods and services worsened to -$44.2 billion in August from -$42.5 billion in July (revised), as exports decreased more than imports. August 2012 Trade Highlights In August, imports of goods ($187.8 billion) decreased for the fifth consecutive month. August exports of capital goods ($44.5 billion) were the second highest on record; the highest occurred March 2012 ($44.6 billion).
