The "2010 Census Local Census Offices with Type of Enumeration Areas" wall map shows the boundaries of local census offices and the types of enumeration areas. The U.S. Census Bureau uses Type of Enumeration Area (TEA) to determine how to most efficiently enumerate people living in various parts of the country. TEAs were defined by geographic staff in the Census Bureau's Regional Census Centers based on housing unit information contained in the Census Bureau's Master Address File. The four categories of TEA shown on the map are Mailout/Mailback, Update/Leave, Update/Enumerate, and Remote Alaska and Remote Update/Enumerate. More detailed descriptions of these categories and the percentages of housing units within each TEA are provided on the map.
Please address any questions about the contents of this map to fld.geographic.support@census.gov, and include "question regarding TEA map" in the subject line.
