New Tables

Industry & Occupation; Class of Worker

  • Due to the release of the new Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) manual in 2010, the Census Bureau updated data products to take into account the addition of new occupation codes and the deletion of old occupation codes. There are 2 new Geographic Comparison Tables (GCT2407, GCT2408) using these new SOC codes.

  • Due to the release of the new Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) manual in 2010, the Census Bureau is updating data products to take into account the addition of new occupation codes and the deletion of old occupation codes. Accordingly, the Industry & Occupation Detailed Tables, Collapsed Tables, Geographic Comparison Tables, and Subject Tables will be updated. We posted 1 table shell, B24010, as an example of the new occupational classification system.

  • Place of Birth: The phrase “by race” will be removed from the table name for race-iterated Detailed Tables B06004A-I and B06004A-I PR. The universe description for Detailed Table B06004FPR changed from “Some other race alone population in Puerto Rico” to “Some other race popluation in Puerto Rico ” to match the universe ID in 2010 Census Summary File 1.
  • Residence 1 year ago; Migration:The phrase “by race” is removed from the table name for race-iterated Detailed Tables B07004A-I and B07004A-I PR.
  • Children; Household Relationship: The section “Citizenship Status” is renamed to “Nativity” for Subject Table S0901.

  • Due to the release of the new Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) manual in 2010, the Census Bureau is updating data products to take into account the addition of new occupation codes and the deletion of old occupation codes. Accordingly, the Industry & Occupation Detailed Tables, Collapsed Tables, Geographic Comparison Tables, Ranking Tables, and Subject Tables will be updated. We posted 1 table shell, B24010, as an example of the new occupational classification system.
  • Other tables or subject matter areas using these new occupation codes include the Comparison Profile, Data Profile, Selected Population Profiles, Foreign Born; Citizenship; Year of Entry; Nativity (Subject Tables S0501, S0502, S0502PR, S0503, S0504, S0505, and S0506), Journey to Work; Workers; Commuting (Detailed Tables B08124, C08124, B08524, C08524; Subject Tables S0802 and S0804), Disability (Subject Table S1811), Earnings and Income (Subject Table S20002), Group Quarters (Subject Tables S2601A, S2601PR, S2601B, S2601C, and S2601CPR), and Health Insurance (Subject Tables S2702 and S2702PR).

Health Insurance

  • The names of the health insurance coverage categories changed. The table names and stubs for the relevant Detailed Tables, Collapsed Tables, and Subject Tables will be modified for consistency. We posted 1 table shell, B27010, to show these modified categories for the health insurance tables.
  • Other tables or subject matter areas using these modified health insurance coverage categories include the Comparison Profile, Data Profile, and Selected Population Profiles. The Comparison Profile and Data Profile also include new data on health insurance coverage status by employment status.

  • Age and Sex:The universe description for Detailed Tables B01001A-G, C01001A-G, B01001I, C01001I, B01002A-G, and B01002I changed to match the universe ID in 2010 Census Summary File 1.  For example, the universe for table B01001A changed from “White alone” to “People who are White alone.”  We posted 1 table shell, B01001A, as an example of this change.

  • Race: There is a change in the table name for Detailed Table B02003 and Collapsed Table C02003 from “Race” to “Detailed Race.”  Additionally, there is a change under the heading “Alaska Native tribes, specified” for Detailed Table B02005 from “Eskimo” to “Inupiat.”  The universe description for Detailed Tables B02010 changed to match the universe ID in 2010 Census Summary File 1.  For example, the universe for table B02010 changed from “American Indian and Alaska Native Alone or in Combination with One or More Other Races” to “People Who Are American Indian or Alaska Native Alone or in Combination with One or More Other Races.”
  • Foreign Born; Citizenship; Year of Entry; Nativity: There is a change in the table name for Detailed Table B05006 from “Place of Birth for the Foreign-Born Population” to “Place of Birth for the Foreign-Born Population in the United States.”  The universe description for Detailed Tables B05003A-G, C05003A-G, B05003I, and C05003I changed to match the universe ID in 2010 Census Summary File 1.  For example, the universe for table B05003A changed from “White alone population” to “People who are White alone.” 
  • Place of Birth: The phrase “by race” will be removed from the table name for race-iterated Detailed Tables B06004A-I and B06004A-I PR. The universe description for Detailed Table B06004FPR changed from “Some other race alone population in Puerto Rico” to “Some other race popluation in Puerto Rico ” to match the universe ID in 2010 Census Summary File 1.
  • Residence 1 year ago; Migration:The phrase “by race” is removed from the table name for race-iterated Detailed Tables B07004A-I and B07004A-I PR.
  • Children; Household Relationship: The section “Citizenship Status” is renamed to “Nativity” for Subject Table S0901.
  • Grandparent; Grandchildren: The phrase “Citizenship Status” is now “Nativity” in the title of Detailed Table B10053.  Additionally, the section “Citizenship Status” is renamed to “Nativity” for Subject Tables S1001 and S1002.
  • Marital Status and History: The section “Citizenship Status” is renamed to “Nativity” for Subject Table S1201.
  • Fertility: The phrase “Citizenship Status” is now “Nativity” in the title of Detailed Table B13008.  The Fertility subject table S1301 will be modified to include 2 columns for percent distribution and margin of error.  Additionally, new rows are included to show whether the respondent received public assistance, and the section entitled “Citizenship Status” is now “Nativity.”

  • Language Spoken at Home and Ability to Speak English:The phrase “linguistic isolation” is replaced with “No one 14 and over speaks English only or speaks a language other than English at home and speaks English ‘very well’” in the table names for Detailed Tables B16002 and B16003, Collapsed Table C16003, and Subject Table S1602.
  • Income: The universe description for Detailed Tables B19301A-G, and B19301I changed to match the universe ID in 2010 Census Summary File 1.  For example, the universe for table B19301A changed from “White alone population ” to “People who are White alone.” 
  • Earnings and Income: The universe description for Detailed Table B20017B changed to match the universe ID in 2010 Census Summary File 1. For example, the universe changed from “Black or African American Population 16 Years and Over with Earnings in the Past 12 Months ” to “Black or African American Alone Population 16 Years and Over with Earnings in the Past 12 Months. ”
  • Veteran Status: Detailed Table B21001 now includes veteran and nonveteran subtotals.
