CROWLEY, LA — Daryll E. Ray, Ph.D., director and founder of the Agricultural Policy Analysis Center and holder of the University of Tennessee’s Blasingame Chair of Excellence in Agricultural Policy, will be the keynote speaker at the joint annual meeting of the Louisiana Rice Council (LARC) and Louisiana Rice Growers Association (LARGA) on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Ray will discuss agriculture in a post-financial crisis era and the impact of the financial crisis on export markets, as well as other agricultural policy and trade issues. LARC President Jimmy Hoppe and LARGA President Jeff Durand will provide updates on the activities of their organizations. The program also will include presentations from the USA Rice Federation, including a report on activities to promote U.S.-grown rice internationally and updates on domestic markets.
