Newcomer Information

One of the most important pre-move actions for any Soldier is to request and communicate with a sponsor from your new unit. Once you are identified by HRC as an inbound Soldier to the 18th Engineer Brigade, S-1 will further assign you to a unit and also assign you a sponsor in the USAREUR Sponsorship Gate (S-Gate).

The time-frame to obtain a sponsor is within 120 days before your arrival.

How to Apply for a Sponsor

Apply for a sponsor today. A sponsor can help your family and you get acquainted in your new community and can help you find all the local resources, both military and civilian. Most U.S. Army Soldiers with pinpoint assignments can request a sponsor through the S-Gate site.

The following information will be provided to you:

-The location of your assignment

-How to get in contact with your sponsor

-How to request specific information

-Where to find helpful websites on the internet

Visit the USAREUR UDPD Applications Portal

Log in using your AKO username and password. Enter your identifying information (SSN/Birthdate/primary MOS). Click on "inbound pinpoint assignment and sponsor info". Fill out the required information and you will see your projected unit, sponsor's name, and his/her contact information.

Feel free to contact your sponsor to request information about your new unit or to obtain a welcome packet. If you have problems logging in to the S-Gate portal, please contact the S-1 whose numbers are below. The hard-copy welcome packet will contain information about Europe, Germany and your new duty location. Finally, your sponsor will make every effort to answer any and all questions about your upcoming arrival to the Brigade.

Before your arrival, please familiarize yourself with the information found in the Brigade Links below. Additional community pages are also available below.

If you need assistance or additional information regarding the sponsorship program or any aspect of arriving to the 18th Engineer Brigade, please use the information below to contact your unit S1. Also, we invite you to share your experiences (both positive and negative) in the Newcomers Corner of the "Discussions" tab on the 18th Engineer Brigade Facebook page and also submit feedback on the polls/survey questions listed on our wall.

Incoming Officers

Once you are assigned to the 18th Engineer Brigade, please submit an introductory letter through the Brigade S1 for the Brigade Commander. Please follow the format listed under the Brigade Links.
