Dollar Index Historical Data
The Atlanta Fed's Dollar Index served as a summary statistic for tracking and analyzing the foreign exchange movements of the U.S. dollar. While we no longer publish the index, historical data through 2008 are available.
We offer two methods of viewing Dollar Index data: Charts and Spreadsheets.
The Dollar Index Historical Data Charts offers a variety of ways to view fluctuations in the dollar's trade-weighted value. You can specify the date ranges during which you see the dollar's trade-weighted activity against these subindexes. These charts can be saved as a PDF file.
The Dollar Index Historical Data Spreadsheets present data from 1973 to 2008. These spreadsheets, which present current (1995–2008) and classic (1973–98) data, can be saved as Excel files.
