America is changing, and so is the census. The new American Community Survey (ACS) provides data every year -- giving communities the current information they need to manage change. Questions on topics that include education, transportation, housing and ancestry generate data that help determine how more than $400 billion in federal and state funds are distributed each year. The ACS also streamlines the decennial census, eliminating the need for a separate long form in 2010.
