LANCE URGES GARDEN STATE RESIDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN "AMERICA SPEAKING OUT"

Lawmaker Says Runaway Spending, Bailouts and ObamaCare Proves Washington Just Isn’t Listening

WASHINGTON – Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today urged Garden State residents to speak out and let their voices be heard through a new initiative launched by House Republicans titled: “America Speaking Out.” America Speaking Out (ASO) is designed to allow the American people a voice in setting the priorities for Congress.

“With the national debt reaching $13 trillion dollars, continued government bailouts and a health care law that costs more and more every day, it is undeniable that Washington just isn’t listening to the American people,” said Lance. “America Speaking Out is new approach to allow every American and every New Jersey family an opportunity to speak out and let their voices be heard.”

Through AmericaSpeakingOut.com, Americans have a platform to submit policy solutions and to engage in debate on a wide range of issues, including those impacting American prosperity and fiscal accountability. ASO also allows citizens to share information and debate these ideas online.

Lance said in his Seventh Congressional District in New Jersey, he has heard repeatedly from residents who are concerned about the growing federal debt, runaway federal spending and who want a glide path toward fiscal responsibility in Congress.

For his part, Congressman Lance is the sponsor of a fiscal package to limit federal spending and reduce our Nation’s ever-growing debt and deficits. Lance was also the first member of the New Jersey congressional delegation to call for a repeal of the health care law and replace it with sensible health care reform proposals.

Citizens can submit an idea or priority, as well as join the debate and vote on ideas, by visiting lance.house.gov/AmericaSpeakingOut.
