LANCE HONORS TWO SCOTCH PLAINS AWARD-WINNING VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL SCHOOLS

In Scotch Plains Seventh District Lawmaker Praises Students, Teachers

WESTFIELD, NJ – Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today held special ceremonies honoring the students and faculty at two Union County Vocational-Technical Schools recently among those named the “Best High Schools for Math and Science” by U.S. News and World Report magazine.

Specifically, Lance visited the Union County Magnet High School and the Academy for Information Technology, both located in Scotch Plains.  During the event, Lance presented each school with a Congressional Record citation and an American flag flown over the United States Capitol Building in honor of each school's accomplishment.

During the presentation Lance also praised the schoolsand the community of students, families, and faculties. “These schools are proud examples of academic excellence where students have high levels of performance, stellar student achievement, and where educators facilitate a strong learning environment,” the Congressman said.
