GRANT DARWIN OF SCOTCH PLAINS COMPLETES SUMMER INTERNSHIP IN LANCE'S CAPITOL HILL OFFICE

WASHINGTON –Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today announced that Grant Darwin of Scotch Plains has completed a summer internship in his Capitol Hill Office. Darwin, 21, is currently a senior at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Grant is a very bright young man who I am proud of the hard-work and professionalism he contributed to my congressional office,” Lance said.  “Internships are a great way for students to learn more about how government works and serve the people of their community through public service.”

Interns in Lance’s congressional office perform a variety of duties, including greeting office visitors, facilitating tours of the U.S. Capitol for visiting residents and helping staff with legislative research projects as well as constituent correspondence.

“The quality of my experience this summer has been simply astounding,” Darwin said. “It was surreal walking into the congressional office every morning knowing I was going to get a first hand lesson in the intricacies of our governmental system.”

Grant is the son of Gary and Jodye Darwin of Scotch Plains.  He is a 2007 graduate of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.
