The New York region includes 10 New Jersey counties and 9 New York State counties

Welcome to the Census Bureau’s New York region. Our office is responsible for all data collection, data dissemination, and geographic operations, for 10 New Jersey counties and 9 New York State counties. The New York Region's boundary will change to include Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, 53 counties in upstate New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Puerto Rico and the entire state of New Jersey effective 1 January 2013 under the Field Realignment as shown on Map of New Regional Office Structure [PDF 632k]. During the transition, we remain committed to exceeding the high standards required by the Census Bureau as well as delivering excellent customer service.
