Lessons from the Cleveland Fed's 2012 Policy Summit
Rebuilding Communities
For 10 years, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland has hosted a unique gathering of researchers and practitioners to talk about community development policies. The 2012 Policy Summit continued the tradition of marrying research and theory with on-the-ground "what works" know-how. In this issue of Forefront, we report from some of the Policy Summit's marquee sessions:
- Economic development: More collaboration, less corporate subsidization
- Cutting-edge efforts to improve America's education system
- The new city: lessons from city (and county) hall
Plus, Interview with keynote Alex Kotlowitz, author of There Are No Children Here and co-producer of the documentary The Interrrupters
