Special Notice

The Quarterly Financial Report has expanded its coverage of selected service industries to include four additional service sectors. Beginning with the fourth quarter 2012, corporations within these sectors were mailed questionnaires and included in the QFR survey. The additional sectors include the following 2007 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) industries: all 3-digit subsectors in Sector 53 (Real Estate and Rental and Leasing), excluding subsector 533 (Lessors of Nonfinancial Intangible Assets (except Copyrighted Works)); all subsectors in Sector 56 (Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services); all subsectors in Sector 62 (Health Care and Social Assistance); and all subsectors in Sector 72 (Accommodation and Food Services). The aggregated service sector data will be released beginning in fourth quarter 2013 (March 2014), when five quarters of data are available. The additional service sector data will be released with the Manufacturing, Mining, Wholesale Trade, and Selected Service Industries data, providing estimated statements of income and retained earnings, balance sheets, and related financial and operating ratios.
