Software Update Required: New Versions of AESPcLink AvailableAES Broadcast 12/15/2011 Broadcast # 2011060 ********************************************************************** Software Update Required: New Versions of AESPcLink Available This message is intended for AESPcLink users only AESPcLink Standard and Network Edition have been updated to improve the security and confidentiality of the system. The updates are in sync with the changes made recently to the AESDirect website and comply with mandates from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for federal government websites. You need to upgrade to the new version of AESPcLink in order to continue using the application because older versions will not be supported. Instructions on how to upgrade will be included at the bottom of this message. You will not see any changes to functionality in the program, but we have also included the following changes in this updated version:
Reminder for Windows 7 and Windows Vista Users If your operating system is Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you must run an executable file on your computer to display the help information. To download, go to the link for the corresponding operating system: Windows Vista Users
Windows 7 Users How to upgrade to the new versions AESPcLink Standard Edition
AESPcLink Network Edition Designated Administrators must download the new versions of the Server and Client by using the “Update Software” function on the “Advanced Options” tab of the Server admin utility. Both the client and the server need to be upgraded to version 3.1. Once administrators have upgraded, instruct users to upgrade their installations of the program by going to the Tools menu and clicking on “Update AESPCLink Software…” For further information or questions, contact the U.S. Census Bureau's AES Branch.
