Rural Development in Ohio
I’d like to welcome you to USDA Rural Development’s Ohio web page. Rural Development is a federal agency with a focused mission of helping to improve the quality of life for rural Ohioans through targeted funding of economic development initiatives. We accomplish this by administering more than 40 assistance programs that help meet housing needs, encourage job creation/retention through business development, and fund community infrastructure improvements (water, sewer, healthcare).
Our financial assistance programs include loan, grant and combination loan/grant opportunities. During Fiscal Year 2009, Rural Development invested more than $681 million throughout the state that helped more rural Ohioans become homeowners, aided business ventures in retaining and creating Ohio jobs, and helped provide communities with vital water and sewer services.
