E komo mai! Welcome to the Office of the Mayor

The Mayor is the elected executive of the City and County of Honolulu which was incorporated in 1907 and consists of the entire island of Oahu .  Honolulu is the 10th largest City in the United States* with a population of 953,207.  The City employs approximately 10,000 with a $2.5 billion combined annual operating and capital improvement budget.

 

The Mayor appoints the directors of 22 agencies and departments that provide City services to the people of Honolulu.  City services include police, fire, emergency response, civil defense, solid waste and wastewater disposal, sanitation, community services, parks and recreation, economic development, and culture and arts among other services.

 

Peter B. Carlisle is the 13th Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu and was sworn in on October 11, 2010.
