I think the next step would be for all dispatchers to qualify for a Non-driving CDL. Let's face it, dispatch knows exactly where each truck is at and how many hours the driver has. Yet they continue to dispatch and leave it to the driver to say no. Dispatchers should be under the same rules for random drug & alcohol screening too. The same penalties should apply for out of service, suspension or loss of job for substance abuse by the dispatcher and if they dispatch a truck that results in hours of operation violation.

Sleep at night, when it is dark! is critical. CDL drivers should be treated the same as pilots.
